The Met Gala: Bella Hadid, Pharrell Williams, and the Met Gala

What Bella Hadid and Pharrell Williams Wore to Their Parties

Bella Hadid, Pharrell Williams, and their respective pals hit up parties in Vegas and Los Angeles over the weekend for the Met Gala.

The Met Gala, a gala that occurs every spring, honors the creative genius of designers, musicians, and actors by selecting their designs for a year-end collection. Last year, for example, Michael Kors and Alexander Wang got paid a combined $11.7 million to feature in the Met Gala, and the show was attended by 1.4 million people.

It’s the biggest star-studded event in the fashion world, and its accompanying parties have become its own mini fashion week. The Met Gala kicked off on Sunday with a party at the Four Seasons Hotel, and Williams and Hadid got down to the party after.

At first it didn’t look like much, but as they moved in, it became noticeable that Hadid was working the room on its tail. With her platinum blond hair and blue eyes, she was the only person in the room who matched the color of the room’s carpet, while everyone else was wearing black.

“I have a good friend who owns a very expensive store, and he said that we should take our time, because that’s what you do when you have a good designer,” she told PEOPLE on Monday. “I wanted to do a pop-up version of the house at his store. He had a couple of pieces, but I wanted to show off the pieces that I have. The ones that have golds and everything.”

Williams, who is known for his eccentric style, did the same with his party. He was wearing a black-and-white striped suit made by Alexander Wang, one of the designers who attended last year’s Met Gala.

“I love that [Wang] is so creative and innovative, and his clothes are very unique,” said Hadid. “So if you’re going to wear a striped suit, make sure that it actually matches the theme of the party.”

“I feel like it’s really important right now, as a designer, to have more than one look or one style,” said Williams, “and I think that’s why the whole world looks to me as a designer. … I feel like the world needs more people
