WILLIAM SHATNER: He has the opportunity to take us to places that we’ve never been, and to leave the country better off for the next generation, and to make us better, not just better informed.
TUCKER CARLSON: We’re better when we’re better informed. So why should we let our friends in government dictate what we know, what we think, what we can know with certainty? It’s time to take back our right to know.
BILL CLINTON: Our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the First Amendment, was written for free people in a free country.
TUCKER CARLSON: We’re being told that everything we want to know about government is now subject to the whims of the executive branch. So the government has an unprecedented power to decide what we know and what we do not know. The Supreme Court may have made a mistake.
BILL CLINTON: I agree with Justice Marshall. I agree with Justice Blackmun that the First Amendment is not simply a declaration of individual liberty, but is, in fact, a recognition of the fact that we are not a nation of laws, but a nation of laws.
TUCKER CARLSON: The United States is being hijacked. We’re just beginning to understand who is really in charge. The first step to bringing the government down is to bring our own government down.
